Catriona and Lesley exchanged experiences about their visits to the interiors of forestry plantations, during the lockdown of January-March 2021. They took each other of guided virtual walks in Buttony and Gleedlee plantations in different parts of Northumberland. They were finally able to walk together to Gleedlee plantation in April 2021. This text by Lesley came about as a result of those conversations, walks and dialogue about Catriona's research at VARC for the ENTWINED programme.
