Corktown, not far from Michigan Central Station (Detroit’s most photographed Ruin Porn), is Detroit’s oldest existing neighbourhood. Originally founded by Irish Migrants, it has become a hotbed of new restaurants, bars, boutiques, hotels and new developments. Corktown was also the home to Tiger Stadium, the city’s baseball team, now relocated Downtown in the new Comerica Park. The empty stadium was completely razed in 2009 and is currently being transformed by a development of apartments, retail and condo units.
