Tasmania is My Backyard

Cradle Mountain in the mist.
Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park.

This is my back yard - Tasmania.

Living, working and playing on this extraordinary island for more than 30 years, I have come to know it pretty well - the good, and the bad through lifestyle and landscape photography.

I agree with the opinion that the quality of travel and editorial photography is directly related to the amount of time spent in one place. While the fresh eye can be enlightening, the informed eye sees deeper.

I am interested in documenting life on this island, our unique proximity to sea and wilderness, our impact on both and how this influences how we live.

To exemplify how small my back yard is, and how close we are to everything on this diverse island, I have added to my images - kilometres from Hobart, as the crow flies.
