BEFORE & AFTERCARE - MICROPIGMENTATION

Note: before you come in for you appointment, please make Noël aware of any previous existing facial tattoo(s) by emailing a photo to ensure you can receive treatment. If Noël is not made aware of this at the time of your appointment, she reserves the right to refuse services and you run the risk of being charged 50% of the full price. Please email theartofthearch@gmail.com with any concerns and/ or questions along with your photograph. This is greatly appreciated.

BEFORE

+ Please discontinue the use of following topical products for a minimum of 7 days prior to your appointment: AHA's, aka Alpha Hydroxy Acids + Retinoids of any kind. This includes Retin-A, Tazorac, Tretinoin, Retinol and so on. These products can cause the pigments to fade prematurely and alter the color as well as may cause the skin to be more more prone to bleeding resulting in poorly healed results.

+ If you are on blood thinners of any kind; Coumadin, Aspirin, etc.  A note from you doctor releasing you for both the procedure(s) and allowing you to go off your medication 10 days prior to your first appointment is required.

+ If you are a person with Diabetes, Noël require's a note from your doctor releasing you for the procedure(s).

+ Please do not take Aspirin, Vitamin E, Ibuprofen/ Advil, or drink Alcohol within 3 days of your first appointment. These may cause your skin to bleed more thus pushing the pigment out and may result in poor healed results.

+ If you are under treatment for any form of cancer, you must wait until your treatment is complete. You are able to receive permanent makeup 1 month after you have been cleared by your physician. Please bring a medical clearance note to your first appointment. It is recommended to get any permanent makeup procedure(s) before you start any cancer treatment(s).

+ Try not to drink caffeine within 3 hours of your appointment. Caffeine can cause more bleeding and healed results may be poor.

+Lip Blush procedure-moistuize, moisturize, moisturize! Moisturizing those lips prior to your appointment is so important. Better prepared skin makes for better healed results. If you have dry, peeling skin gently exfoliate dead skin prior to your scheduled appointment. Dry, peeling or cracking lip skin may hinder the work and yield poor healed results.

+ Please note that woman who are in or near their menstrual cycle tend to bleed more than those who are not. You will also be more sensitive to pain.

+ If you are sunburnt or have been in a tanning bed within 5 days Noël cannot perform the procedure.

+ Lip filler must be preformed at least 6 weeks prior or 6 weeks after your lip blushing appointment.

+No waxing or tinting the treated area for at least 5 days before you procedure.

+If when Noël begins to micropigmentation process and notices excessive bleeding, she reserves the right to reschedule your appointment.

+Please discontinue any and all lash enhancement serums at least 30 days prior to your eyelash line appointment.

+Please remove any false lashes at least 24 hours before your eyelash line enhancement appointment.

+For those that wear contact lenses receiving an eyelash line  enhancement procedure, please remove your contact lenses before your appointment and refrain from putting them back in until the following day. NOTE: using contact solution can remove the pigment. If and when possible, wear glasses for the first week for achieving the best possible healed results.

+For those receiving Lip Blushing and have a history of cold sores, it is recommended to start taking the prescribed medication at least 3 days, each day leading up to your scheduled appointment and after if needed to prevent an outbreak as this procedure is very stimulating and may cause a cold sore outbreak.

+For those that have recently undergone facial surgery, like Blepharplasty, you must bring a letter of medical clearance from your surgeon to your appointment. You must be healed for at least 3-6 months before receiving permeant makeup.

AFTER

Careful aftercare is essential to how your brows heal producing a beautiful lasting result.

EYELASH/ EYELINER ENHANCEMENT: it is important to keep treated area DRY for at least the first 3 days. You can wash gently with warm water and pat dry after 3-4 days.

MICROBLADING: It is important to keep the treated area clean, dry but moist by applying A&D or Aquaphor ointment every 3-4 hours for 10 days. Expect slight swelling, redness and itching for the first few days. Pigment will appear darker for the first 5-7 days, and then start to lighten. It is a process, this is normal. Patience is key. After your skin has completely healed about 3-4 weeks, any areas of concern can be addressed during the touchup appointment.

LIP BLUSHING: expect moderate swelling usually for the first 1-2 days following the procedure. Applying ice packs for the first 24 hours is most important to continue throughout the day. Keep moist at all times with A& D or Aquaphor ointment. It is normal for the lips to feel dry and even peel. Do NOT pick the skin. The color will be vibrant and bright initially, then after about the 5th or 6th day, it can fade as if you have lost all your color! However when your lips have healed completely, the color will settle into a natural hue - softening up to 55% after the skin has completely healed from the first day of the procedure.

*You must use a NEW bottle of mascara after your healing period to avoid contamination. It is suggested to wash all eyeshadow brushes prior to reapplying eye makeup as well.

+ Keep treated area moist by applying the ointment 2-3x's/day for at least 10 days. (Eyeliner/lashline procedures keep dry-no ointment).

+ If you receive neurotoxin treatments such as Botox in the treated area please wait 2 weeks after your neurotoxin touchup before receiving microblading as it can take 2 weeks for Botox to peak.

+ No harsh cleansers, face creams, makeup and/or any other products on or near the treated area for at least 10 days.

+ No exposure to direct sun or tanning beds for a minimum of 2 weeks.

+ Avoid swimming pools for 2 weeks.

+ Do not wax, tweeze or dye eyebrows for 2 weeks.

+ Avoid heavy sweating for a least 7 days.

+ Lip filler must be NOT be preformed for at least 6 weeks after your last lip blush procedure.

+No Facials, Chemical Peels, laser treatments for at least 4 weeks.

+ Noël will provide instructions & A&D ointment for your after care.

+ If you have OILY skin, wash the treated area with Dove BAR soap or DIAL BAR soap only, twice daily starting the evening the day of treatment.

+ Always wash your hands before applying the ointment or use a Q-tip

+ Be gentle. Do not pick or rub the treated area during the healing period. Allow the skin to heal and slough off by itself.

+ Avoid any form of Retinoids (Retin -A, Tretinoin, Tazorac, Retinol) for at least 2 weeks.

+ After you are completely healed you may resume your natural skincare and makeup routine.

+ Use sunblock after the area has healed to protect from fading when enjoying direct sun exposure.

WHAT IS NORMAL

WHAT' S NORMAL AFTER RECEIVING MICROPIGMENTATION?

+ Mild to moderate swelling and redness is normal. Light scabbing, skin peeling, even light bruising, dry tightness is all normal.

+ Too dark or uneven appearance. After about 7 days the darkness will fade and once the swelling goes down the unevenness will disappear.

+ Color or pigment on the Q-tip when applying ointment during the home care. You might notice some pigment on your pillow case the next morning or o the Q-tip after applying ointment for the first few days or so. This is normal.

+ Color changes or Too Light/ color loss. As the area heals the color will lighten and seem to disappear. Once your skin has completely healed, the pigment will reveal itself again as it migrates back toward the skin's surface. Any areas that appear too light or missing pigment can be enhanced during the touchup appointment, hence why it is so necessary. The procedure area has to be completely healed before we can address any concerns.

CAUTION!!!

NOTE:

Failure to follow the suggested before and aftercare instructions may result in infections, pigment loss or discoloration, and/or poorly healed results.
