Throughout their journey through our school, our students experience a wide range of musical activities including daily singing for all ages. Music is an important part of every classroom, festival, and celebration at the school. First Graders learn to play simple pentatonic flutes, move to diatonic flutes in Third Grade, and engage in recorder ensemble in middle school. In Fourth Grade, the study of a stringed instrument is introduced which continues to playing as apart of an orchestra  in 7th and 8th grade. The persistence required to learn a complex piece of music to create something beautiful with others as a collective activity, relies on individual preparation, consistent effort and concentration. Acquiring musical skills by regular practice can open a world of opportunity and understanding for each and every student.
