Matthias Jung pushes the boundaries of the mind with his otherworldly architectural collage series Houses. The German based designer uses original photography, piecing together fragments of German landscapes and buildings to create the surreal imagery. With each manipulation, our perception of structure and landscape blurs even further.

Collages are not a foreign medium to Jung. With scissors and glue at hand, his interest in collage work began at a young age in his father’s photo lab, in which he mentions is where “the first fantastic buildings were made”. Since adopting digital practices, Jung’s body of work has grown, bewildering spectators all across the globe and encouraging them to reimagine the familiar.
