Rev. Donald McLean, late Free Church Minister of Carinish, N. Uist died at Dunbar 6th November 1892 aged 73 years, brother Archibald McLean died Oldhamstocks 6 September 1862 aged 34 years.

Born in Inverness-shire, 1818. Studied at the Universities, Aberdeen and Edinburgh, and New College, Edinburgh. Ordained at Carinish, Outer Hebrides, 1873. Became senior minister, 1890. Died, 1892.

Background
He was born about 1818 in Portree, Isle of Skye, Inverness-shire, the son of Archibald Mclean and Ann Gray.

Education
He entered King’s College, Aberdeen, in 1852. He enrolled in New College, Edinburgh, 1858-63.

Ministry
He was ordained in Carinish, North Uist, Inverness-shire, in 1873.

Death
In 1891 he was living in retirement in Earlston, Berwickshire, and he died on 6th November, 1892, at the High Street, Dunbar, East Lothian (Registration: 1892 706/ 90 Dunbar).
