Biography 

Carlos Delgado (Colombia) 

Carlos Delgado is an Indigenous Colombian-Canadian visual artist based in Toronto. Delgado has been the recipient of many awards including the Community Artist Residence at the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto. Delgado’s paintings and studio work have been collected by the Library of Rioscuio in Colombia and the Collection Gallery Carlos Drew. 

Delgado’s studio work is through painting. He makes medium- and large-format abstract portraits inspired by everyday faces. Delgado paints from the memory of those encounters in the cities of Colombia and Canada. His work has been showcased in collective and solo exhibitions in Canada and internationally, including the solo exhibition Evolution en deux (2019) at Gallery Cox, Bordeaux, France, and the collective exhibition The Figurative Group Exhibition featuring Carlos Delgado (2022) at Westland Gallery, in London, Ontario.
