Biography

Arlan Londoño (born 1962, Colombia - died 2013, Toronto)

Arlan Londoño was a Colombian curator and visual artist based in Toronto. He completed a master’s degree in visual studies specializing in curatorial studies at the University of Toronto. In 2004 he co-founded e-fagia organization with the time media-based artist Julieta María, which is dedicated to fostering Canadian and Latin American time-media projects in Canada. While in e-fagia, Arlan organized over 15 projects including video screenings, exhibitions, film festivals, and discussion panels.

Arlan Londoño's studio work was time-based media. His research was informed by art and technology to reflect on the effects of mass media consumption, and his artwork focused on public space interventions and site-specific installations. Arlan’s work was part of numerous collective exhibitions, including Where Do We Go? Amongst Flower and Song (2022), curated by Día de los Muertos collective, Peter Mckendrick Wychwood Gallery, Toronto, Other Electricities (2012–2014), curated by Cheyanne Turions, Art Gallery of Windsor, and the 11th Havana Biennial (2013) in Habana, Cuba.
