Biography 

Dana Prieto (Argentina) 

Dana Prieto is an Argentinian visual artist and educator based in Toronto. Dana holds a bachelor in fine arts from Ontario College of Art and Design University and a master of visual studies from the University of Toronto. She has been the recipient of awards and grants including the finalist prize of the Toronto Friends of Visual Arts in 2022 and the Arts Creation Project grant from the Ontario Arts Council in 2020. 

Prieto’s multidisciplinary studio work is focused on creating sculptures, installations, performances, writing, and collaboration with other art forms to engage in social, political, and historical discourses about Latin American culture and immigration. Prieto's work has been included in the collective exhibitions Interstices (2016) co-curated by Sally Frater and Tamara Toledo at Sur Gallery, Toronto, and What Water Knows, The Lands Remembers at the Toronto Biennial of Art in Mississauga, Ontario (2022) and True Currency (2022), curated by Leila Timmins, at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, Ontario.
