Format Picks est notre série de concours mensuels. Lancée en février 2018, c'est un appel ouvert à des travaux créatifs de toutes sortes, dont la participation est toujours gratuite. Au début de chaque mois, nous annoncerons un nouveau thème que vous devrez interpréter.
Jusqu'à présent, nous avons demandé à notre communauté de soumettre des travaux autour des thèmes suivants couleur rouge, autoportrait, le villeet le l'environnement.
July’s contest theme
This month, the theme for Format Picks is: print’s not dead.
Even though we’re a thoroughly online publication, we still believe in the importance of artists creating printed work and sharing it on the internet. We want to see creative work that explores this idea, whether it’s a collage that repurposes old magazines, a 35mm photograph, a page from your sketchbook, your interpretation of a favorite book, or a font you’ve designed.
Your submission doesn’t need to actually be printed or created using paper. It just needs to reference this theme in some way, whether that’s through the form or content of your work (or both!). Your submission can explore the history of print, or it can challenge the idea that print is still surviving by imagining an all-digital future.

Vous pouvez soumettre des œuvres sous forme de photographie, de dessin, de peinture, de sculpture, de collage, de GIF, d'illustration numérique ou de tout autre support visuel de votre choix. La participation est limitée à une image par personne. Si vous soumettez plus d'une image, seule la première sera considérée comme une participation valide.
Les images doivent de préférence avoir une largeur minimale de 1200 pixels et une résolution de 72 ppp. Les fichiers JPG ou PNG sont les meilleurs. Veuillez indiquer vos nom et prénom dans le nom de fichier de votre soumission.
Your submission should also include a brief statement on how your work relates to the theme.

If you’ve always wanted to print your own magazine or zine, now’s your chance.
This month, we’re offering one winner the chance to see their work in print, courtesy of our friends Club des journaux. Newspaper Club is an online service that makes it easy to make and print a newspaper, with a selection of different sizes from big broadsheets to mini zines. Newspaper Club is offering $500 worth of print services to the winner, which can be used to create any newsprint-based project they like.
The winner will also be highlighted in a Format Magazine article, and will have their completed print project showcased on the magazine as well.
