Toronto photographer Elie “Visionelie” Jonathan recently joined The Weeknd and the XO crew on their 20-date North American arena tour. In between the incredible stadium shots you’d expect to see at one of this year’s hottest recording artists’ sold-out shows, there’s the quiet, more intimate moments that reveal him to be just another guy: playing video games backstage, hanging out with friends, and pensively checking his texts. Although, when you’re The Weeknd, your inner circle includes Travis Scott and Banks, to name only a few of the familiar faces who make an appearance in the photo essay.
