Zun Lee, the documentary photographer behind successful projects like Father Figure and the Magnum-supported Fade Resistance, says he actually never set out to be a photographer.
“I had a stressful corporate job and didn’t really have much of a life,” Lee explains in a new video from the InFrame series. “A coworker actually suggested, ‘Hey, why don’t you pick up photography—you are always traveling,’ and gave me a camera.”
Lee started in the streets, photographing strangers who piqued his curiosity, but quickly realized he was more interested in the storytelling aspect of photography and began digging in deeper.
