Pâté, also known as Paul Pateman, is a London-based graphic artist with a quick wit and bold, pared-down aesthetic. Working in both print and digital formats, his wicked sense of humour infuses his concept-led images.
With a style honed over his successful career as a creative director at two of London’s largest advertising agencies, his work has earned him over 130 industry awards, including the coveted D&AD Yellow Pencil.

After thirteen years, he left the corporate world to pursue a full-time career as an independent creative professional.
Balancing his time now between commercial, editorial and personal projects, his impressive roster of clients includes The Telegraph, The Guardian, The New York Times, Discovery Channel UK, Polaroid, Creative Review and V&A Museum of Childhood.
His typographic compositions titled East End A to Z was exhibited at The Brick Lane Gallery in Shoreditch. Each letter represents a neighbourhood cultural landmark. A similar series called Cock-A-Doodle, a “dirty alphabet”, is understandably NSFW, so we highly recommend visiting his portfolio, pateontoast.co.uk to see more.
